Wardle This is Wardle, it is situated in Rochdale near Littleborough. Rochdale a part of Greater Manchester, England. It is situated near the Pennines which are a vast amount of hills which goes all the way from the Peak District in Derbyshire to the Scottish Boarder. Wardle lies at the edge of the Pennines, approximately 15 miles north east of Manchester and three miles north of Rochdale. Rochdale is home to a few famous faces which are Lisa Stansfield, Anna Friel and Gracie Fields. This is where I grew up. I spent most of my youth in this area and I gradually got used to my surroundings. There was a field around the corner from me called 'The Wreck' in where I would go and play on the swings as a girl. There was a film crew that came up to shoot at the top of the village. It was a low based income programme called 'The Last Train' and James Hazeldine (Bayleaf in Londons Burning) and Steve Huison (The Full Monty) starred. At the top of the village there are two churches and a public house called 'The Globe'. Beyond that is a cobbled road leading up to Wardle Reservoir. It is known to have a village underneath that belonged there in the early day. I am basing my novel 'Little Town Millie' there as one place was called 'Little Town'.
