Charity

One of my other passions is fundraising for different charities. I basically do the major ones a year like Red Nose Day and Children in Need. I was a member of a charity group close to me called the 'Littleborough Lions' which is formally Lions International. They call it different things to the different areas that they are based.

This is the link above. They are one of the best charity organisations in the world as they raise money for all sort of charities. When I was with them we held fundraising events for Madam Curie, St Mary's Hopsital (Manchester), Rochdale Mind, Cancer Research, Macmillian Nurses, and many more.

For Children in Need, (which the link is above) I manage to do this once a year. I'm now planning my lastest fundraising event as it will be a little harder as I would like to do a bus surf. I'm requiring all about it, to see if it is possible to do.

Red Nose Day is absolutely different. Its originally called Comic Relief and sometimes they do another one based in this category called Sports Relief. I've done this many years doing different things like a walk around a lake, sponsored silence, and even a sponsored work out.

These are all brilliant causes that many people manage to get involved in. I certainly do. I always like to do things for other people. I put others before me and sometimes never get to do things for myself. Since learning more about my condition MDS, I have been trying to put myself first by helping myself before I help others. At least I still get time to do it, I love to see other people's faces when I've done something for them. It gives you a good feeling. Its one of the best feelings in the world to do things for other people. Its very rewarding.
